Located in Greece, the birthplace of theater 2,500 years ago, Hydrama Theater & Arts Center is a place where students, actors, academics and theater professionals can meet and experience Greek drama and culture in an inspiring setting which reflects theater's origins. We offer a two-week intensive Greek theater course, as well as general theater and drama summer programs for theater professionals, actors, teachers, classics or drama students (adults of all ages, 18 years+). We are situated just one hour by sea from Athens, on the beautiful and cosmopolitan island of Hydra.


Summer Greek Theater / General Theater & Drama Courses:

Photo of Contact Page - Summer Theatre Programs in Greece2-week intensive summer summer course "Acting to the Gods".  A maximum of 12 participants are selected for this course and it is suitable for theater professionals, actors, teachers, classics or drama students. The training methods taught are applicable and relevant to all forms of theater.

We also offer a range of summer Greek theater courses workshops and training for anyone who is interested in setting up a course in Hydra including: The origins and development of ancient Greek drama, Character-building, Masks, Improvisation, Chorus-work, Text analysis, Voice-work, Movement, Dance, Drama games, Greek language & culture.

Study art abroad in Greece. The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Paros, Greece, is an independent institution offering semester-long and full year study abroad courses in photography, painting, art history, printmaking, singing, literature and creative writing to university students in the United States, Canada, Europe and Worldwide. Courses are offered in two semester-long sessions (Spring & Fall) per year.


The value of a wholly autonomous study abroad program specializing in small group and individualized study is immense. Not being bound by association to the requirements and orthodoxies of larger more generic programs, the Center is free to create courses of exceptional quality and independence.
